What is a Mercedes-Benz Digital Consultant (MDC)?
A Mercedes-Benz Digital Consultant is a member of the Shift team who can help manage your website and offer strategic recommendations on how to drive more leads. The MDCs are not incentivized on sales and do not have provider preference. The MDC is an expert in all Mercedes-Benz Dealer Website Programs and platforms, and they maintain the relationship with you even through certified provider changes. Your MDC is available to you at no additional cost.
What can my MDC do for me?
Your MDC can create custom and compliant content for your website. This includes custom banners, custom pages, updating National and Tier III offers and editing dealership information. They are trained in the Mercedes-Benz Brand Standards and can submit your website to MBCCS, correct compliance errors and consult on best practices. Your MDC can explain lead metrics, provide lead support, report on website performance and consult on ways to improve your website. They can also troubleshoot inventory issues, and answer questions regarding billing and CRM lead routing.
Can my MDC work on another OEM site or a secondary site?
No, your MDC can only help manage your Certified Mercedes-Benz Website. Per the contract with Mercedes-Benz, he/she is not permitted to work on secondary sites or other OEM sites.

What is the Mercedes-Benz Dealer Website Program?
The Mercedes-Benz Dealer Website Program connects you with the biggest names in Automotive Digital Marketing to provide choice in who supports your website. Each website platform will present your site with a unique look and feel, allowing you to customize your online presence. The program will seamlessly integrate Mercedes-Benz passenger vehicles, Mercedes-Benz Vans, and smart content into a single website.
What are the key advantages of this new website program?
Am I required to enroll in the Mercedes-Benz Dealer Website Program?
Yes. All dealers are required to select one of the Certified Website Program providers as part of the Mercedes-Benz dealer operating standards. Enrollment will provide you with integrations, analytics, and special pricing.
Who are the Certified Website Providers?
The Certified Website Providers are Dealer Inspire, Dealer.com, DealerFire, and DealerOn.
How much does each provider charge for a website?

I’m not happy with my current Certified Website Provider, can I switch providers?
All contracts on the Certified Website Program are month-to-month. You may switch providers at any time, but please be aware of the billing rules. Let your MDC know you would like to switch website providers as soon as possible, preferably before the 10th of the month to avoid being double-billed.
Can I use my own URL for the Certified Program?
Yes, you may use a vanity URL for your certified website.
Certified Dealer Website Program Leads and CRMs
How will leads be delivered?
Shift Digital direct posts to a dealer’s CRM. By receiving leads through the Mercedes-Benz Dealer Digital Program, dealers will get better insight into lead and source performance. Dealers may then work with their MDC to setup email routing through the Certified Website Providers.
How will I know where the leads came from?
There are three source types that will be posted to your CRM: brand leads, dealer website leads, and third-party leads. Many of the leads will come through with full source names (i.e. DI – Quick Quote, DDC – New Vehicle, MBUSA.com, Facebook – Mercedes-Benz).
How does the third-party lead program work?
MBUSA purchases leads on an enterprise basis from a variety of vetted sources. These lead providers are comprised of websites such as Cars.com, Autobytel, Black Book, etc. In June 2017, our lead-buying system underwent an enhancement that now purchases leads on a machine-learning level. Leads are “scored” on a variety of factors including validity of email, zip code, etc. Only leads that receive a high enough “score” are passed through to the dealer.
Can I turn off third-party leads?
Yes, the third-party program is optional to dealers so you may turn them off at any time. You can do so by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. We do encourage you to leave third-party leads turned on in order to maximize lead volume.
Can I be credited for invalid leads?
While our system aims toward purchasing the highest quality leads, some invalid leads do make it through to the CRM. These leads can be credited on a monthly basis. To receive credit, email email@example.com with the lead name, lead ID and dealer code by the end of the month.
How much am I paying for third-party leads?
Third-party leads are charged at a rate of $15 per lead.
I changed CRM tools, will I continue to receive leads?
CRM changes must be processed through our Infobox. If you change CRMs, please email firstname.lastname@example.org, confirming your old CRM and your new CRM. Our leads expert will set up a new route and send test leads through to ensure you received them.
Certified Dealer Website Program Analytics and Reporting
How will I be able to check the performance of my website?
Advanced reports on lead and website performance are available to you through Mercedes-Benz Analytics. You can access these reports at any time, by logging in through NetStar. Additionally, your MDC can walk you through website performance monthly, over the phone.
How do I access Mercedes-Benz Analytics?
Mercedes-Benz Analytics must be accessed through NetStar. Click on “Available Links.” In the Sales category, search for “Shift Digital Lead Management Analytics Dashboard.” If you do not have access to see this dashboard, please contact your Security Administrator.
What type of reports can I see in Mercedes-Benz Analytics?
Mercedes-Benz Analytics gives you access to a variety of lead and website performance reports, each of which can be filtered to specific dates.
In addition to a leads overview, you can see how many total sales leads you received, as well as a breakdown of brand site leads, dealer website leads, and third-party leads. You can see your average response time as well as sales activity: lead sales, lost sales, close rates.
In addition to a website overview, you have access to website performance, which highlights key performance indicators including daily unique visits, total page views, form conversion rate, click to call, VLP and VDP views, and more. The referrer site report shows you where your traffic is coming from, and the VDP report shows which inventory pages generate the most traffic.
In Mercedes-Benz Analytics, you also have access to dealer and field resources which includes best practice sheets on marketing, leads and dealer websites.
What is the difference between Mercedes-Benz Analytics and the analytics I receive from my website provider?
Mercedes-Benz Analytics comprises all the data MBUSA is using to gauge dealer performance. Because the same tagging is implemented across all dealer sites, this data is unbiased. It can be used to measure and compare lead and website performance for all dealers, regardless of which website platform they are using.

Which products do each of the Certified Trade-In Providers offer?
Kelley Blue Book offers LeadDriver for $175/mo. Black Book offers Trade Accelerator for $175/mo. or Credit Accelerator for $175/mo. If you bundle Black Book’s Trade Accelerator and Credit Accelerator, they are available for $325/mo.
How long is the contract period for products on the Mercedes-Benz Digital Program?
There are no long-term contracts in the Mercedes-Benz Digital Program. The contract period for all programs and services is month-to-month.
How will Mercedes-Benz Digital Programs be billed?
Dealership websites and some a la carte items will be billed directly to the dealer’s parts statement. Digital Advertising, Trade-In, and special a-la-carte items will be billed directly to the dealer via Credit Card or ACH.
What is Chargify?
Chargify is the platform that is used for direct-to-dealer billing (see below FAQ to find out which products are billed through Chargify). Chargify prompts dealers to add either a credit card or a bank account (ACH) to pay for specific products on the program. Credit cards have a 3.5% processing fee; there is no processing fee associated with adding a bank account.
How will Certified Digital Advertising (SEM) be billed?
Certified Digital Advertising will be billed directly to the dealer using a platform called Chargify. Chargify accepts either a credit card or bank account for payment methods. Credit cards have a 3.5% processing fee; bank accounts do not have an associated processing fee. A payment method must be on file before the product can go live.

How do I avoid double-billing if I’m switching website providers?
Let your MDC know you would like to switch website providers as soon as possible, preferably before the 10th of the month to avoid being double-billed. Your MDC will work with you, as well as the website providers, to establish a go dark date for the old site and a go live date for the new site.
If I cancel an a-la-carte product before the 10th of the month, when will I receive my last bill?
A-la-carte products that are processed and cancelled before the 10th of the month will go dark at the end of the current month. You will receive your final bill the next month. For example, digital advertising that is cancelled on November 10th will go dark November 30. You will receive your final bill through Chargify in December, for the period of November 1 – November 30.
If I cancel an a-la-carte product after the 10th of the month, when will I receive my last bill?
A-la-carte products that are processed and cancelled after the 10th of the month will go dark at the end of the next month. You will receive your final bill two months after. For example, digital advertising that is cancelled on November 11th will go dark December 31st. You will receive your final bill through Chargify in January, for the period of December 1 – December 31.
Will group discounts be offered?
No. Package pricing will offer best-in-class program value by leveraging brand purchase power and provider competition.
